The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk met with the Latvian delegation headed by Minister of Health of the Republic of Latvia Hosams Abu Meri
“It is a great pleasure when the best friends of Ukraine come to us in such a difficult time,” said the Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk, noting that this meeting is a continuation of her previous visit to Latvia.
Olena Kondratiuk expressed her gratitude to the Minister of Health of Latvia for his leading role in providing rehabilitation opportunities for Ukrainian wounded soldiers. “Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, 320 people have already undergone such rehabilitation. Mr Minister also informed that this year's quota of 150 patients per year has been increased to 200,” said the Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
At the same time, she noted that the national centre ‘Vaivari’, where Ukrainian patients are rehabilitated, is a brand of this kind in the world.
“Latvia has also provided Ukraine with 67 ambulances, and they are already performing their tasks where they are needed most.
The country also continues to provide training courses for our medical professionals and neurosurgeons,” Olena Kondratiuk concluded, stressing the importance of continuing cooperation.
