Volodymyr Zelenskyy Met with the President-Elect of Indonesia in Singapore

On the sidelines of the annual Asian Security Summit, Shangri-La Dialogue, in Singapore, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prabowo Subianto, the President-Elect of Indonesia, and congratulated him once again on his victory in the March elections.

“We look forward to Indonesia's support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The leaders discussed the progress of the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, presented by Volodymyr Zelenskyy right during his online address to the participants of the G20 Summit in Indonesia in 2022.

The Ukrainian Head of State expressed hope for Indonesia's participation in the Global Peace Summit at the highest level.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed areas of bilateral cooperation. In particular, Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that despite Russia's attempts to obstruct civilian navigation in the Black Sea, Ukraine is ready to increase the supply of agricultural products to Indonesia.

The President emphasized that our country is interested in developing relations with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) and aspires to obtain the status of a Sectoral Dialogue Partner of the Association.

 

Volodymyr Zelenskyy Discussed Further Assistance to Ukraine with the Delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee

In Singapore, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy had a meeting with a bipartisan delegation of the U.S. House of Representatives Foreign Affairs Committee led by its Chairman, Republican Party member Michael McCaul.

The meeting was also attended by the Democratic Co-Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Gregory Meeks, and members of the Committee Young Kim and Joe Wilson (Republican Party), and Joe Courtney (Democratic Party).

The Head of State thanked the congressmen for advocating for the decision of the Congress, which was crucial for the resilience of the defenders of Ukraine in the confrontation with the Russian occupiers.

“We want to thank the United States, the Congress, both parties, for the important decisions that have been made. This is really a very important support package. It will help strengthen our army on the battlefield,” he said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed the participants of the meeting about the situation on the frontline. They discussed key areas of further military assistance to Ukraine, including strengthening its air defense with additional systems and missiles.

The parties also emphasized the importance of allowing Ukraine to use U.S. weapons against military targets in Russia in the border areas of the Kharkiv region.

The President also discussed with the congressmen the further increase of sanctions pressure on Russia. He emphasized the role of the Congress in shaping the legal framework for the use of frozen Russian sovereign assets for the urgent needs of Ukraine.

 

The President of Ukraine Met with the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste for the First Time

On the sidelines of the Shangri-La Dialogue Summit, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, met with the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste, José Ramos-Horta, for the first time in the history of these bilateral relations.

The Ukrainian Head of State thanked the President of the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste for supporting the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Ukraine and the important UN resolutions condemning Russia's aggression.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized the significance of the participation of Southeast Asian countries in the Global Peace Summit and thanked José Manuel Ramos-Horta for confirming his participation in the event.

“It is very important for us to begin the process of establishing just peace. Russia does not want to stop the war. Therefore, together with the entire world, we must take steps to bring peace closer,” the President of Ukraine said.

He noted that one of the key issues of the Summit would be the provision of the Peace Formula on food security.

The Ukrainian leader expressed his readiness to develop bilateral cooperation with Timor-Leste, especially in the field of agricultural products supply, and invited the President of Timor-Leste to visit Ukraine.

 

President of Ukraine Met with U.S. Secretary of Defense in Singapore

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin on the sidelines of the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue.

The Head of State emphasized the unwavering strong defense and political support of Ukraine by the United States.

“We are very grateful to President Joseph Biden and his administration for their continued assistance in the fight for our freedom and independence,” Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He also emphasized the critical importance of the military aid package passed by Congress.

The two sides discussed Ukraine's defense needs, which are being addressed by U.S. assistance, including training and equipping new brigades.

The President thanked the U.S. Secretary of Defense for his active work to bolster Ukraine's air defense system. “This is the most important track now to protect the lives of Ukrainians, our cities, communities and civilian infrastructure. It is crucial,” he said.

The interlocutors also focused on the F-16 coalition, in particular the joint efforts needed to speed up the delivery of the fighter jets.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the adoption of an important decision by the U.S. Presidential Administration to allow limited strikes with American weapons on the territory of Russia to effectively counter Russia's attempts to expand the combat zone.

The President of Ukraine and the U.S. Secretary of Defense noted the progress in the preparation of a bilateral security agreement.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy also told Lloyd Austin about the efforts made by Russia to disrupt the first Global Peace Summit. The Head of State emphasized that the participation of all key partners of Ukraine would make such attempts by Russia pointless.

 

President Met with Heads of Leading Investment Companies of Singapore

On the sidelines of the IISS Shangri-La Dialogue, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with top executives of leading Singaporean investment companies.

The event was attended by the heads of Singapore's sovereign wealth fund GIC, investment fund Temasek Holdings, Wilmar International, Singapore Business Federation, investment company Blackstone Singapore, telecommunications operator SingTel, Universal Success Enterprises, and construction company Meinhardt Group.

The President emphasized that even in the difficult conditions of the war, the Ukrainian economy finds ways to develop and grow, adapting to new circumstances.

The Head of State thanked the Singaporean businessmen who continue to work in Ukraine in a difficult time for our country and maintain employment.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy expressed his belief that the further development of Ukraine-Singapore trade cooperation has great potential, especially in the fields of technology and innovation.

The President also reaffirmed Ukraine's commitment to creating additional attractive incentives for investors.

The Head of State invited Singaporean investors to take part in a joint conference with the EU on the restoration, reform and modernization of the Ukrainian economy to be held in Berlin. A program to mobilize international financial support, implement long-term projects and create attractive conditions for investing in Ukraine's economy will be presented there.

 

Volodymyr Zelenskyy discussed the Peace Summit and the Development of Bilateral Relations with the President of Singapore

During his visit to Singapore, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Singapore Tharman Shanmugaratnam.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the clear position of Singapore on condemning Russian aggression, supporting sanctions pressure on Russia and for the humanitarian assistance provided.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed about the preparations for the first inaugural Global Peace Summit and emphasized the importance of representation of all continents, participation of all countries that respect international law and seek to restore just, comprehensive and lasting peace.

The leaders also discussed prospects for deepening Ukraine-Singapore relations.

The President of Ukraine thanked Singapore for its assistance in developing human potential and the capabilities of the public service sector in our country.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized Ukraine's interest in bringing cooperation with the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN) to a new level.

 

President Met with Prime Minister of Singapore

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with Prime Minister of Singapore Lawrence Wong.

The Head of State highly appreciated Singapore's consistent and resolute support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, its assistance in overcoming the humanitarian consequences of the full-scale Russian invasion, and the sanctions imposed.

The parties discussed preparations for the first inaugural Global Peace Summit. Volodymyr Zelenskyy spoke about Ukraine's vision of the Summit's outcomes and invited the Prime Minister of Singapore to personally participate in it.

The President of Ukraine emphasized the importance of maximum unity and participation in the Summit of all states seeking a lasting, just peace based on the principles of the UN and international law.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Lawrence Wong paid special attention to the expansion of Ukrainian-Singaporean cooperation in the economic sphere. In particular, they discussed the prospects for expanding trade and increasing agricultural exports.
