Prime Minister of Ukraine and President of Estonia discuss European integration and creation of joint defence production facilities

During a working visit to Estonia, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with President of Estonia Alar Karis.

The Head of Ukrainian Government thanked Alar Karis for his landmark visit to Ukraine immediately after the liberation of Kyiv region from russian occupiers two years ago.

“Ukraine needs more weapons to expel russia from all our lands. We appreciate Estonia’s participation in military assistance initiatives. We are increasing our own arms production and are interested in establishing joint defence enterprises,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The parties also discussed Ukraine’s European and Euro-Atlantic aspirations. The Prime Minister stressed that Ukraine should become a member of the EU and NATO and that it was counting on Estonia’s support.

Denys Shmyhal conveyed to Alar Karis the best wishes of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and thanked him for Estonia’s consistent assistance.
