The Deputy Speaker Olena Kondratiuk appealed to Slovenia to continue rehabilitation of Ukrainian children from frontline regions
The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Olena Kondratiuk, met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovenia to Ukraine, Mateja Prevolšek.
The first issue discussed by the parties was the continuation of the holiday programme in Slovenia for Ukrainian children from the frontline regions. Olena Kondratiuk also thanked Slovenia for its significant contribution to the humanitarian demining of Ukraine.
The Ambassador, for her part, stressed that Slovenia fully supports the Ukrainian Peace Formula, in particular, it actively participates in working groups on most points of the peace plan. The Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament stressed that Ukraine greatly appreciates such support.
She also expressed her hope that Slovenia would be represented at the highest level at the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland and the Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimean Platform in Latvia.
The interlocutors also discussed interparliamentary cooperation. Olena Kondratiuk called on the Slovenian Parliament not to recognise the results of the fake presidential election in russia and to condemn russia's illegal deportation of Ukrainian children.
She also spoke about Slovenia's valuable experience in integrating into the EU and NATO, which would be useful for Ukraine.
“We are counting on Slovenia's advocacy of Ukraine's invitation to join NATO at the Washington Summit. The Ambassador and I are of the same mind that Ukraine's membership in the Alliance is the best guarantee of security,” said Olena Kondratiuk.
