The Vice Speaker Olena Kondratiuk and Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova Doina Gherman discussed situation in Transnistria

The Deputy Chairperson of the Verkhovna Rada Olena Kondratiuk met with the Vice Speaker of the Parliament of Moldova Doina Gherman.

The parties discussed the difficult situation in Transnistria.

“We are closely monitoring its development and unconditionally support the territorial integrity of Moldova,” said Olena Kondratiuk.

“If Ukraine is saved, Moldova will be saved. The security of Ukraine is the security of Moldova,” said Doina Gherman.

During the meeting, the Vice-Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament proposed an initiative to prepare and adopt a resolution in the Moldovan Parliament condemning the deportation of Ukrainian children by russia.

“We ask Moldova not to recognise the results of the so-called presidential elections in russia. These “elections” will obviously be held in the temporarily occupied territories of Ukraine. The democratic world should not recognise them at all, as well as the fake “election” of the international criminal putin as president of the russian federation,” added Olena Kondratiuk.

The participants of the meeting also discussed inter-parliamentary cooperation in the context of the joint movement towards the European Union.

“Despite the difficult situation, Moldova has provided humanitarian aid to Ukraine worth USD 6.7 million and sheltered almost one hundred thousand of our citizens, women and children. We are grateful for the help. The future of Ukraine and Moldova is in the EU!” emphasised the Vice-Speaker Olena Kondratiuk.
