2024 Government Action Plan is about how to build Ukraine stronger, reinforce the army, and ensure economic resilience

At its session on 16 February, the Cabinet of Ministers approved the Government Action Plan for 2024. This was announced by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal.

"This is one of the core documents to guide the work of the Cabinet of Ministers and central executive authorities. The Government Action Plan is about how to build Ukraine stronger, how to reinforce our army, ensure the resilience of the economy, bring victory closer and continue the recovery," said Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Prime Minister, the Government Action Plan contains almost 450 objectives. These are draft laws, programmes and resolutions.

"These are also our European integration plans, the instructions given by the President of Ukraine, and our commitments to international partners. These are policy changes and the modernisation of our country," the Head of Government stressed.

The Prime Minister also named the main priorities of the document:

- defence capability, as well as security for our citizens. This is the Ukrainian Shield programme;

- European integration of Ukraine;

- rebuilding the destroyed;

- new veteran policy;

- education for a successful country;

- reform of the social sphere. Social transition;

- sustainable economy;

- building an effective digital state;

- energy independence;

- modern affordable healthcare.

Other priorities include the rule of law and sanctions policy, regional development and decentralisation, science and innovation, consolidation of Ukrainian society, and environmental protection.

"We set ambitious goals for all priorities. Each minister is personally responsible for their implementation," the Prime Minister stressed.
