First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked Pat Cox for the successful holding of the Jean Monnet Dialogues in Ukraine at the end of last year.

Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized that the Ukrainian Parliament is ready to continue implementing legislative changes to transform the Parliament into a transparent, accountable and effective legislative institution in line with the best European practices of parliamentarism. “We have discussed all the recommendations discussed at the Jean Monnet Dialogues at the level of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine – we are preparing appropriate amendments to the draft laws that can implement many of these recommendations,” he said.

The parties paid special attention to Ukraine's European integration. “The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine plays one of the main roles in this process,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, expressing hope for a high level of support in the implementation of Ukrainian legislation in line with the European one. The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine personally thanked Pat Cox and the European Parliament for the support that Ukraine has been receiving throughout its journey to the European Union.

Ruslan Stefanchuk also raised the issue of continuing sanctions pressure on the russian federation. He said that the 13th package of sanctions is currently being prepared, noting that it is important to impose restrictions on russia that cannot be circumvented.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called for united efforts to continue providing military, financial, and humanitarian assistance to Ukraine. “The war is exhausting, and without the support of our allies, it will be very, very difficult to defeat russia,” Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized, expressing hope that the decision to allocate 20 billion euros under the European Peace Fund, the supply of artillery ammunition, and the approval of the Ukraine Facility will be implemented so that Ukraine can receive the first funds in the first quarter of 2024.
