Prime Minister of Ukraine and Foreign Minister of France discuss key areas of bilateral cooperation

On 13 January, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Minister for Europe and Foreign Affairs of France Stéphane Séjourné in Kyiv.

Denys Shmyhal congratulated Stéphane Séjourné on his appointment and noted that his first visit to Ukraine in his new position demonstrated the extraordinary level of concern of France for our country.

"We are grateful for the comprehensive support, especially in the military sphere. France is among the countries that provide the most active assistance in this area. Our priorities for cooperation here are to receive air defence systems and increase the flow of missiles," the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government also stressed the importance of financial assistance. He expressed hope that France would continue to contribute to financial initiatives at the EU level, which are vital for the country.

"We are effectively cooperating with French businesses in reconstruction projects. We invite French companies to be more actively involved in this critical process. We also invite humanitarian demining operators to clear agricultural land," said Denys Shmyhal.

According to the Prime Minister, Ukraine and France continue to work together to implement President Volodymyr Zelenskyy's Peace Formula. According to him, France is one of the undisputed leaders.

Stéphane Séjourné, for his part, assured that France would support Ukraine on its path to the EU and NATO and would remain side by side in our fight against the russian aggressor.
