First of all, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk expressed his gratitude for all the assistance provided to Ukraine by Canada.

"In almost two years of war, we have preserved Ukraine and liberated half of the occupied territories. We have put an end to the military dominance of russia in the western part of the Black Sea," he said, adding that despite the successes, the situation at the front remains difficult as the enemy is outnumbered and Ukraine needs to cover a significant deficit of relevant military equipment.

"Continued military support is crucial for us now," stressed the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, outlining the needs, in particular, for air defence systems and missiles, artillery and ammunition.

Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada for adopting a resolution condemning the war crimes of the russian authorities and the genocide of the forced deportation of Ukrainian children to the territory of the russian federation. He noted that Canada was the first country to host the international conference United for Justice: War Crimes against Ukrainian Children to address the challenges of war crimes against Ukrainian children. The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine welcomed the initiative of the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Canada to launch an international coalition of countries for the return of Ukrainian children.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked Canada for its clear and consistent position in favour of Ukraine's membership in NATO. He expressed hope that by the next NATO Summit, which will be held in Washington in July 2024, Ukraine will be able to achieve the goal of making maximum progress in implementing the decisions of the Vilnius Summit and receive an invitation to join NATO.

For his part, the Speaker of the House of Commons of the Parliament of Canada stressed that Ukraine's victory is a victory for the international order and the Parliament of Canada fully supports Ukraine and the Ukrainian people.

In conclusion, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, invited the Speaker of the House of Commons of Canada, Greg Fergus, to pay a working visit to Ukraine, stressing that such a visit would be a powerful signal of support for Ukraine from a friendly Canada in these most important times in recent history.
