Prime Minister outlines the main directions of economic diplomacy for 2024

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal took part in a solemn event on the occasion of the Diplomatic Service Day, held on 22 December with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

The event was also attended by Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Dmytro Kuleba, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Poland Radosław Sikorski, representatives of the Government and the Presidential Office.

Denys Shmyhal thanked the diplomats for their efforts to consolidate the pro-Ukrainian coalition in the world, to attract financial resources, to bring the aggressor to justice and to make progress in our European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

"During our meeting last year, we talked a lot about five main areas of economic diplomacy: accumulating macro-financial assistance from partners, receiving assistance for reconstruction, stimulating foreign investment and creating mechanisms for insuring investment risks, promoting Ukrainian goods to world markets, and sanctions policy. I would like to express my sincere gratitude for the results we witness every day. These are the challenges that will remain relevant in 2024," the Prime Minister said.

At the same time, the Head of Government noted that the war had also set new tasks, including humanitarian demining, attracting assistance for the needs of fortification, and confiscation of russian assets.

"I thank the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and every Ukrainian diplomat for all the efforts you make for our victory. I believe that together we can do more. I wish you energy, strength, inspiration and optimism to make 2024 a successful, productive and victorious year for Ukraine," Denys Shmyhal said.

During the event, the President of Ukraine presented state awards to the diplomatic service employees.
