Denys Shmyhal met with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Poland

On 22 December, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Minister for Foreign Affairs of Poland Radosław Sikorski in Kyiv.

The parties discussed strengthening economic cooperation, focusing in particular on the key issue of unimpeded movement of goods across the joint border.

"This is critical for Ukraine's resilience and fight against the russian aggressor. We must develop a balanced solution that will benefit both countries," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine suggested that the Polish side introduce joint control at the border crossing points. According to him, this will increase the efficiency and capacity of their work.

The parties also touched upon strengthening cooperation in the production and repair of military equipment. "We have the will and everything we need to bring our defence cooperation to a new level," Denys Shmyhal stressed.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine conveyed his sincere congratulations to the new Government of Poland headed by Donald Tusk. He expressed hope for building fruitful and constructive cooperation between the two countries.

"We will closely cooperate in the issues of European integration. I am grateful to Poland for supporting Ukraine on its way to the EU. I express my gratitude to the entire Polish people for their comprehensive support of Ukraine since the first days of the full-scale war," said Denys Shmyhal.
