The President of Ukraine met with the Prime Minister of Cape Verde

On the way to Argentina to attend the inauguration of newly-elected President Javier Milei, Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister of Cape Verde José Ulisses Correia e Silva. This meeting is the first in the history of bilateral relations with this country.

The Head of State emphasized the importance of Cape Verde's principled stand in supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, condemning Russian aggression, and specific steps taken by Cape Verde in support of Ukraine's international initiatives.

In particular, Cape Verde favored the resolution of the 11th emergency special session of the United Nations General Assembly on March 2, 2022, on the support for Ukraine's territorial integrity and sovereignty, as well as the demand for Russia to cease aggressive actions and withdraw its troops from our country's territory. Earlier, Cape Verde supported the resolution of the UN General Assembly on March 27, 2014, urging the countries around the world not to recognize the annexation of Crimea by Russia.

The President expressed gratitude for the support, particularly in the UN, stating, "It is the voice of democracy that helps us, endorsing resolutions that are crucial."

The Head of State invited the Prime Minister of Cape Verde to join efforts in implementing Ukraine's Peace Formula. Special priority was given to the implementation of its particular points, the preparation for the fourth national security and foreign policy advisors' meeting, as well as the Global Peace Summit.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked José Ulisses Correia e Silva for supporting the "Grain from Ukraine" humanitarian initiative and briefed him on the efforts to expand a new export corridor and establish grain hubs in Africa.

The Head of State informed the interlocutor about Russia's unsuccessful attempts to hinder civilian navigation in the Black Sea, noting that after the restart of the alternative grain corridor, over 7 million tonnes of food had already been transported.

The leaders also focused on intensifying Ukraine's engagement with African countries, enhancing cooperation within international forums, and agreed on the schedule of bilateral contacts in the near future. The President of Ukraine invited the head of the government of Cape Verde to visit Ukraine.

 

President of Ukraine had a meeting with the President of Paraguay in Buenos Aires

During a working visit to Argentina, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of the Republic of Paraguay Santiago Peña.

The Head of State expressed gratitude to Paraguay for its steadfast support of Ukraine within international organizations.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy informed his Paraguayan counterpart about the progress in the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and the results of three meetings of the national security and foreign policy advisors.

"We are extremely interested in involving Paraguay in the implementation of our Peace Formula," noted the President of Ukraine.

He expressed hope that as many Latin American countries as possible would participate in the next meeting of the advisors in January 2024.

The leaders also exchanged views on the possibilities of deepening trade and economic cooperation between Ukraine and Paraguay.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Santiago Peña to visit our country.

 

President of Ukraine met with the President of Uruguay in Buenos Aires

While on a working visit to Argentina, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Uruguay Luis Lacalle Pou.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for Uruguay's stance within the International Maritime Organization in support of the resolution on the impact of the Russian armed invasion of Ukraine on international navigation adopted in December this year.

"Today I have the opportunity to personally thank you and the people of your country for supporting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity," he said.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that Ukraine is currently engaged in a fierce combat with Russian troops on the battlefield and is simultaneously working to implement the Ukrainian Peace Formula, which is one of the key political instruments to end the war.

The President of Ukraine commended the participation of Uruguay’s representative in the third meeting of national security and foreign policy advisors on the implementation of the Peace Formula.

He expressed hope for Uruguay's participation in the fourth meeting of advisors in January next year, where, among other things, discussions are planned on the preparation for the inaugural Global Peace Summit.

Special attention was paid to the prospect of holding the Ukraine – Latin America summit.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Luis Lacalle Pou to make a visit to Ukraine.

 

President of Ukraine had a meeting with the President of Ecuador

During a working visit to the Argentine Republic, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with President of Ecuador Daniel Noboa.

The Head of State congratulated Daniel Noboa on assuming the office of President of Ecuador in November of this year.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy praised Ecuador's stance in support of international organizations' resolutions condemning Russia's invasion of Ukraine.

He invited Ecuador to join the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and take part in the next meeting of national security and foreign policy advisors in January 2024.

“The support and strong united voice of Latin American countries that stand with the people of Ukraine in the war for our freedom and democracy is very important for us,” the President of Ukraine emphasized.

During the meeting, the heads of state exchanged views on the challenges posed by the destabilization in different parts of the world.

The interlocutors also discussed the prospect of developing bilateral cooperation between Ukraine and Ecuador, in particular in the security sector, digitalization, and agricultural trade.

Special attention was paid to the prospect of organizing the Ukraine – Latin America summit.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy invited Daniel Noboa to visit Ukraine.

 

President of Ukraine took part in the inauguration of the newly elected President of Argentina in Buenos Aires

During a working visit to Argentina, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy attended the ceremony of the transfer of presidential powers and the inauguration of the newly elected President of the Argentine Republic, Javier Milei.

The inauguration ceremony, which was attended by the previous President of Argentina, Alberto Fernández, and invited representatives of foreign states, government leaders and officials, took place at the National Congress of Argentina in Buenos Aires.

Javier Milei took the constitutional oath. This was followed by the handover of the attributes of power to the new head of the Argentine Republic.

After the inauguration, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, along with other representatives of foreign countries, took part in a ceremony to congratulate Javier Milei on assuming office at the Government House of Argentina.

The President of Ukraine also had informal conversations with heads of state and government of foreign countries.

As part of the events dedicated to the inauguration of the newly elected President of the Argentine Republic, Javier Milei, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with him in Buenos Aires.

The Head of State thanked Javier Milei for the invitation and congratulated him on officially assuming the office of the President of Argentina.

"In times of war, it is challenging to find time and travel halfway around the globe. But we heard you, your signals in the Parliament and your personal energy in support of Ukraine, our people who are fighting against Russian aggression," Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

He expressed confidence that Ukraine and Argentina, the people of both countries, can have a great common future. The President of Ukraine noted that the Argentine people highly value freedom, which is exactly what Ukrainians are fighting for today.

The Head of State told the President of Argentina about the process of implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula. He invited Argentina to take part in the fourth meeting of national security and foreign policy advisors on the implementation of the Peace Formula in January 2024 and in the preparation of the inaugural Global Peace Summit.

The parties also discussed the next steps in the preparation of the Ukraine – Latin America summit, which will open a new chapter in Ukraine's relations with the region.

The interlocutors paid special attention to the development of bilateral cooperation in a number of areas.
