The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a working meeting with U.S. Senators

In the framework of the working visit, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine together with the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak met with the Chairman of the Senate Republican Political Committee Joni Ernst, Jim Risch, Co-Chairman of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee, Roger Wicker, Co-Chairman of the Armed Services Committee, Susan Collins, Co-Chairman of the Appropriations Committee, John Thune, Deputy Senate Republican Leader, and Senator Markwayne Mullin.

During the conversation, the parties paid considerable attention not only to the importance of further financial support for Ukraine, but also to the situation on the battlefield.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted that Ukrainian soldiers have already liberated more than 50% of the previously occupied territory: "And we need weapons to advance."

"russia is trying to impose its own format of war – a war of attrition. We cannot allow this to happen," stressed the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine.

That is why Ruslan Stefanchuk called for uniting around the support of Ukraine, and thus support for democracy.

At the same time, he outlined the importance of providing air defence systems, artillery ammunition, tanks and armoured vehicles among Ukraine's urgent defence needs.

For their part, the senators assured that the budgetary processes currently taking place in the US Congress do not affect the general understanding of the need to continue providing assistance to our country: "And these processes do not affect the existing bipartisan support for Ukraine."
