The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken
The meeting was also attended by Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak and Minister of Defence of Ukraine Rustem Umerov.
The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed gratitude to the United States for the budgetary support already provided in excess of $22 billion and defence support that has already reached over $44 billion. He also thanked the United States for its strategic leadership in supporting Ukraine.
During the meeting, the parties focused on Ukraine's defence needs and the protection of its energy infrastructure. They also discussed the importance of further US financial support for Ukraine and further legislative work in Ukraine to implement reforms.
For his part, the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andrii Yermak thanked for organising the U.S.-Ukraine Defence Industry Conference, which is taking place these days in Washington: "This important event will launch active bilateral military-technical cooperation between the two countries."
He also noted that defence companies, based on the experience of the Ukrainian military in the use of various types of weapons in combat, with the support of American partners, are able to produce fundamentally better weapons.
Finally, the parties paid special attention to the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.
