The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met with the Heads of the House of Representatives and the Senate of Belgium

During his working visit to Brussels, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a working meeting with the Presidents of the Belgian House of Representatives Éliane Tillieux and the Belgian Senate Stephanie D'Hose.

The parties discussed continued support for Ukraine, the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi and Ukraine's path to the European Union and the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to Stephanie D'Hose for her recent visit to Ukraine on the occasion of the Holodomor Remembrance Day, in particular, for her speech to Ukrainian parliamentarians. At the same time, he thanked the President of the House of Representatives Éliane Tillieux for her participation in the events marking the 32nd anniversary of Ukraine's independence in the city of Gimbergen, as well as for her powerful speech in support of our country.

"Your decisions, resolutions, military, humanitarian and political support are a demonstration to the world that Belgium stands with Ukraine," Ruslan Stefanchuk said, thanking Belgium for its support of the President Zelenskyi's Peace Formula and readiness to participate in the implementation of its individual points.

In addition, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine thanked Belgium for joining the F-16 coalition and asked to speed up the provision of military assistance. "The speed of movement of our Armed Forces of Ukraine depends on the speed of supply of weapons," added Ruslan Stefanchuk.

At the same time, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that Ukraine is committed to further reforms and systemic changes and is determined to complete the implementation of the legislative steps set out in the European Commission's Report as part of the Enlargement Package.

"We have already begun preparations for the next NATO Summit to be held in Washington in July 2024," the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine concluded, noting that the goal is to achieve maximum progress in implementing the decisions of the Vilnius Summit and to receive an invitation to join NATO at the Summit in Washington.
