Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with the President of the Swiss Confederation in Kyiv

Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with President of the Swiss Confederation Alain Berset, who is on a visit to our country.

The Head of State expressed gratitude for the substantial humanitarian assistance provided to Ukraine since the beginning of the full-scale invasion.

"Thank you for your visit. It is a very powerful message for Ukrainians worldwide that you have decided to visit Ukraine on a special day in our history for all our families – the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor. Also, thank you for your participation in today's mournful ceremony. We are proud to have such partners who took part in the ceremony on this special day for our country," he said.

The President of Ukraine expressed hope for a positive decision by the new Swiss parliament regarding the recognition of the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy highlighted the importance of the assistance provided by Switzerland in restoring Ukraine's infrastructure.

The Head of State also highly praised Switzerland's role in humanitarian demining, particularly its readiness to host the second International Donors' Conference on Humanitarian Demining in Ukraine in 2024.

Both parties paid special attention to the issue of utilizing frozen profits from the assets of the aggressor state.

The interlocutors separately discussed progress in implementing the Ukrainian Peace Formula and Switzerland's participation in this process.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy acknowledged Switzerland's proactive stance on holding the Russian aggressor accountable, including its joining the coalition of states for creation of a Special Tribunal for the crime of aggression against Ukraine.
