The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine met with President of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly Michal Scherba

"russia continues to commit crimes in Ukraine, destroying energy, port infrastructure and logistics facilities," said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, stressing the importance of continuing defence support for Ukraine.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine noted that Ukraine's most urgent needs are air defence systems, long-range missiles, artillery and combat aircraft: "The systematic and timely delivery of defence supplies is extremely important."

"Ukraine needs political support. First and foremost, in the issue of Euro-Atlantic integration," emphasised Ruslan Stefanchuk. He emphasised that Ukraine expects to receive an invitation to join NATO at the Summit in Washington. He also expressed hope for the active involvement of the NATO Parliamentary Assembly to help the Allies form a consensus on the invitation to join the Alliance.

"russia is reconfiguring its strategy and wants to turn this war into a war of attrition," said Ruslan Stefanchuk, stressing that this is why it is very important that partners realise that Ukraine cannot fight this kind of war, so providing the latest technological means is crucial to turn the tide of this war.

"Just like 90 years ago, russia continues to use hunger as its weapon, destroying Ukraine's infrastructure, as well as the system and logistics of grain transportation from Ukraine," said the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine, stressing that Ukraine appreciates such visits on the days of commemoration of the 90th anniversary of the Holodomor of 1932-1933 as visits of solidarity and support for Ukraine.

In conclusion, the Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk asked to call on the parliaments and governments of the allies to consider the available instruments of influence on russia in the urgent issue of returning to Ukraine the Ukrainian children illegally deported to russia.
