Ukraine will attract UAH 2 billion from Germany to support economy

At its session on November 24, the Government passed a decision that will allow Ukraine to attract a grant from Germany of nearly UAH 2 billion (EUR 50 million) to support the economy. The Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal announced.

"These funds will help the Government to continue to finance one of the most successful business support programmes - the 5-7-9 soft loan programme," the Prime Minister said.

Denys Shmyhal reminded that this week the EU had provided Ukraine with another tranche of macro-financial assistance in the amount of EUR 1.5 billion. The state budget has also been granted USD 400 million from the United Kingdom through the World Bank Trust Fund. According to him, the Government will direct these funds to social payments, pensions, salaries for doctors and teachers, and critical needs.

"Today, the President, the Government, diplomats, civil society, everyone is working to ensure that the pro-Ukrainian coalition in the world is as strong and united as ever. We can see the results of this work almost every day," the Head of Government stressed.

The Prime Minister thanked international partners for their assistance in economic recovery.
