For the first time in Latin America, a resolution condemning russian aggression against Ukraine was adopted
The Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk announced the adoption of the final Declaration of the Free America Forum, which for the first time in Latin America has a common position of Christian democratic parties with a clear condemnation of russian aggression against Ukraine.
She noted that the text of the Declaration managed to include a separate paragraph expressing solidarity with Ukraine, support for the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine and condemning russian aggression against our country.
"We stand in solidarity with the people of Ukraine who are suffering from unjustified, unprovoked russian aggression. We call on all American countries to join the implementation of the Peace Formula to achieve a comprehensive, just and lasting peace in Ukraine in accordance with the UN Charter," the document states.
Olena Kondratiuk emphasized that this was the first time since the full-scale russian invasion of Ukraine that such a broad format of Latin American countries condemned russian aggression. For the first time, through such a broad inter-party format, which unites 34 parties from 21 Latin American countries, we managed to draw the attention of the public and politicians of the region to the struggle of the people of Ukraine against the aggressor country russia.
"We have a great result of the joint and hard work of my team together with the Embassy of Ukraine in Mexico, headed by Ambassador Oksana Dramaretska. This is also a great success for the delegation of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, which I led as the Vice Speaker. We took a direct and active part in the work of the Free America Forum and felt a very favorable attitude and sincere support and understanding of our colleagues," said the Vice Speaker of the Ukrainian Parliament, thanking everyone who helped and supported the delegation in this difficult mission.
