Prime Minister of Ukraine and German Vice Chancellor discuss support for the private sector

During a meeting in Berlin, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal and German Vice Chancellor and Federal Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck discussed the strengthening of economic cooperation.

The meeting was also attended by First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Economy of Ukraine Yuliia Svyrydenko and Minister of Energy of Ukraine German Galushchenko.

The parties raised the issue of support for the private sector.

“The Government is actively supporting our exporters who are ready to do business with Germany. We need to intensify export credit instruments that are of mutual benefit to German and Ukrainian companies. German Government’s guarantees for German investors in Ukraine remain an important and urgent issue,” said Denys Shmyhal.

According to German Vice Chancellor Robert Habeck, the German Government has received 30 applications from companies willing to invest in the Ukrainian economy.

Participants in the meeting also discussed cooperation in the modernisation of Ukrainian production facilities and joint projects in the energy sector. The Ukrainian side expressed the need for equipment to restore Ukraine’s energy system.

Denys Shmyhal thanked the German Government for its solidarity and Robert Habeck for his personal efforts in providing Ukraine with weapons and assistance to get through the last heating season.
