The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Czech Republic Jan Lipavsky

The parties discussed topical issues of Ukrainian-Czech cooperation, Ukraine’s defence needs, Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic and European integration path, as well as the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi.

“It is important that the Czech Republic, like no other, understands that Ukraine is defending not only itself and its freedom, but also the entire democratic world,” the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine said, noting that it is very important to feel the support of partners.

Ruslan Stefanchuk noted that Ukraine appreciates that the Czech Republic was one of the first countries to adopt a national programme for the reconstruction of Ukraine.

In addition, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to the Czech Republic for the crucial military, financial and humanitarian assistance provided to our country throughout the period of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

“Ukraine needs air defence systems, artillery and ammunition, heavy military equipment,” said the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, adding that Ukraine looks forward to further defence support from the Czech Republic and all international partners.

“In the light of the Washington Summit next year, we expect to receive an invitation to join the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and a clear understanding of the timeframe for membership,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

In conclusion, Ruslan Stefanchuk stressed that Ukraine counts on the Czech Republic’s assistance in the practical implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula.
