On 24 October, as part of the government team’s visit to Germany, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with German Chancellor Olaf Scholz. The parties focused on comprehensive support for Ukraine.

“Germany plays an important role in strengthening Ukraine’s defence capabilities and in cooperation with the European Commission. We are grateful for this and look forward to continued strong support,” said Denys Shmyhal.

During the meeting with his German counterpart, the Prime Minister of Ukraine also focused on the issue of the use of frozen russian assets, in particular through the international compensation mechanism.

“Together we must find ways to make russia pay for the crimes and destruction committed in Ukraine,” said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister also expressed his gratitude for the organisation of the sixth German-Ukrainian Business Forum, stressing that such events promote new agreements, investments and new projects in Ukraine.
