The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the newly elected Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey Numan Kurtulmus

The parties discussed a number of important issues, including Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration, food security and interparliamentary cooperation.

First of all, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk thanked his colleague for participating in the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimea Platform, as well as for the important signals in the context of encouraging an international response to the ongoing occupation of Crimea.

“Ukraine highly appreciates the participation of the Republic of Turkey in the establishment and functioning of the International Crimea Platform,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

At the same time, he stressed that the Ukrainian side is grateful to the Republic of Turkey for the humanitarian, financial and other types of assistance provided in countering the full-scale armed aggression of the russian federation.

During the meeting, the parties also discussed the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. “Ukraine appreciates Turkey’s readiness to become a leader in the implementation of the second point of the initiative, which concerns food security,” Ruslan Stefanchuk said.

On the issue of Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic path, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed hope that Turkey would support Ukraine’s Euro-Atlantic integration.
