The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and the Dail of the Oireachtas of Ireland signed a Memorandum of Understanding

During an official visit to the Czech Republic, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, Ruslan Stefanchuk, and the Speaker of the Dail of the Oireachtas, Sean O Fearghail, signed a Memorandum of Understanding.

The aim is to create a common framework to support the development of parliamentary processes and procedures in the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine and to help build its institutional capacity to support Ukraine on its path to victory, restoration of territorial integrity and sovereignty, post-war reconstruction and European integration.

At the same time, the parties agreed to work together to increase the necessary transparency and openness of the work of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the public; to support the specialists of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine in providing expert information to MPs on how to effectively facilitate the fulfilment of obligations related to the European integration process; and to strengthen the institutional framework for conducting analysis and research of the legislative process in support of and in the interests of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Accordingly, the Ukrainian and Irish sides will conduct study visits and exchange of best practices and experience between parliamentarians.

Finally, the Parliament of Ukraine and the Dail of the Oireachtas of Ireland will organise parliamentary conferences, seminars, roundtables and other projects to support EU initiatives aimed at providing democratic and institutional support to the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
