Ukrainian and German businesses reached a series of agreements on the sidelines of the Forum in Berlin

Private business is the main driver of Ukraine's recovery and growth. This was emphasized by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during the German-Ukrainian business forum held in Berlin with the participation of German Chancellor Olaf Scholz.

"Today, investors have much more reasons to invest in Ukraine than they had, for example, a year ago. First of all, our security capabilities have increased. Germany has made a huge contribution to this," said Denys Shmyhal while adding that Ukraine is also developing its domestic defense industry. In particular, the production of drones has increased 100-fold over the past year.

The Prime Minister also emphasized that the Ukrainian Government was pursuing a policy of maximizing investment facilitation. In particular, through such mechanisms as deregulation, digitalization, the establishment of industrial parks, the government office for attracting and supporting investment UkraineInvest, and the creation of better logistics on the western border.

"We understand that the key to attracting investment is the insurance of military and political risks. We are grateful to the German government and Mr. Scholz personally for the insurance guarantee program for its investors. This encourages companies to invest in Ukraine now, rather than wait for the end of the war," said Denys Shmyhal.

The Prime Minister said that on the sidelines of the Forum, the German Government would sign an investment insurance guarantee to the German company Fixit for the completion of the second production facility in Ukraine.

In addition, Denys Shmyhal highlighted five key sectors that offer special prospects for investment: energy, defense, agriculture, natural resources, and digital technologies.

In particular, according to Denys Shmyhal, a memorandum of cooperation will be signed between Ukrhydroenergo and Andritz Hydro GmbH on the development and implementation of green hydrogen production projects in Ukraine.
