The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a videoconference with the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Kenya Moses Wetang’ula

The parties discussed food security and the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine.

First of all, the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to Kenya for its strong position in the UN General Assembly and support for resolutions on Ukraine and condemnation of the russian federation’s war against Ukraine.

In addition, Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized that in recent months, russia has been deliberately destroying civilian agricultural and port infrastructure involved in the sea and river export of Ukrainian grain and other food products.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called on Kenya, as one of the recipients of the Grain from Ukraine program, to join international efforts to ensure global food security and uninterrupted food exports from Ukraine.

“It is important that as many countries as possible support the implementation of the Peace Formula of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi,” the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine said.

In conclusion, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to the National Assembly of the Parliament of the Republic of Kenya to join the countries that have recognized the Holodomor of 1932-1933 in Ukraine as genocide of the Ukrainian people by adopting a resolution.

“This year, we commemorate the 90th anniversary of one of the greatest tragedies of humanity, when millions of innocent Ukrainians were deliberately starved to death by the soviet regime,” said Ruslan Stefanchuk, noting that 29 countries and the European Parliament have already recognized the Holodomor as genocide of the Ukrainian people.
