The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk met with the Speaker of the Dail Eireann Sean O Fearghail

The parties discussed issues of food security, Ukraine's European integration and interparliamentary cooperation.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine thanked his colleague for his personal efforts to ensure comprehensive support for our country from the Irish Government, Parliament and society.

At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk informed about the daily shelling of Ukrainian ports. "Today, Ukraine is working on using its own humanitarian corridor," he emphasized, adding that it is necessary to work on the resumption of the grain initiative without fulfilling additional conditions of the kremlin.

The Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed hope that the Lower House of the Oireachtas would continue to provide political support to the above initiatives.

In addition, Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized that he counts on Ireland's support for Ukraine's path to the European Union, in particular, in assessing all of Ukraine's capabilities and expressing support for the start of negotiations on Ukraine's membership in the European Union.

"Our cooperation has great potential for the future, both in terms of establishing cooperation between friendship groups and at the level of heads of parliaments," said Ruslan Stefanchuk.

As part of the meeting, the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk presented the Speaker of the Lower House of the Dail Eireann, Sean O Fearghail, with the state award of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy — the Order of Grand Prince Yaroslav the Wise, II degree — for "a significant personal contribution to strengthening interstate cooperation, supporting Ukraine's state sovereignty and territorial integrity, and popularizing the Ukrainian state in the world."
