Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a videoconference conversation with President of the Senate, Vice President of Liberia, Jewel Howard Taylor

This is the first telephone conversation in the history of Ukrainian-Liberian parliamentary relations.

The conversation focused on inter-parliamentary cooperation. The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine proposed to explore the possibility of establishing friendship groups between the parliaments of Ukraine and Liberia.

At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk invited his colleague to participate in the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimean Platform. "The participation of the Speaker of the Parliament of Liberia will definitely be an important step towards strengthening our bilateral ties," the Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine expressed his conviction.

Much attention during the conversation was paid to the russian aggression and its consequences, in particular, the shelling of port infrastructure, which threatens global food security. "russia is trying to cover up its obvious strategic failure on the battlefield by "successfully" bombing civilian targets far from the front line. Port infrastructure is no exception," noted Ruslan Stefanchuk.

The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized that the interruptions in the supply of grain and fertilizers from Ukraine to the African continent, which are the result of russian aggression, have a devastating impact on the economic stability of the entire continent.
