The Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk held a videoconference with the President of the National People's Assembly of Guinea-Bissau Domingos Simoes Pereira

The parties discussed issues of interparliamentary cooperation. Ruslan Stefanchuk emphasized the importance of establishing an inter-parliamentary friendship group: "This is a key element of effective cooperation between the two legislative institutions."

In addition, the Chairman of the Parliament of Ukraine called on the President of the National People's Assembly of Guinea-Bissau, Domingos Simoes Pereira, to take part in the Second Parliamentary Summit of the International Crimean Platform.

During the conversation, the parties also paid attention to the consequences of russian aggression, in particular, the aggressor's deliberate destruction of civilian and port infrastructure. "This causes interruptions in the supply of grain from Ukraine, particularly to the African continent. It is obvious that russia's actions pose a global threat to food security," the Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine emphasized.

At the same time, Ruslan Stefanchuk informed that Ukraine has launched new initiatives, such as "Grain from Ukraine," designed to help ensure food security in countries that need it.

"For Ukraine, the issue of food security is extremely sensitive, given the conditions of history, when in 1932-33 the totalitarian regime created an artificial famine," the Speaker of the Parliament of Ukraine concluded, calling on the National People's Assembly of Guinea-Bissau to recognize the Holodomor of 1932-33 as genocide of the Ukrainian people in order to restore historical justice.
