The First Vice-Speaker presented the Certificate of Honour of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Chairman of the Association of Ukrainianists of Japan Yoshihiko Okabe
The First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko presented the Certificate of Honour of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Chairman of the Association of Ukrainianists of Japan Yoshihiko Okabe for his significant personal contribution to the development of Ukrainian-Japanese relations, support for the state sovereignty and territorial integrity of Ukraine, promotion of its historical heritage and modern achievements.
He stressed that it is very important and valuable when a person does everything for the development of relations between states, assistance and support.
“We sincerely appreciate all the support from Japan on our way to victory. In particular, we also support their territorial integrity,” emphasised Oleksandr Korniienko, noting that the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has adopted a resolution to support Japan’s position. Japan’s position on the northern territories and recognising that they continue to be under occupation by the russian federation.
“The award from the Parliament is a reward and gratitude from the entire Ukrainian people,” said the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.
For his part, Yoshihiko Okabe, the Chairman of the Association of Ukrainianists of Japan, said that during this trip he had learned the “true heart of Ukraine” and expressed his belief in Ukraine’s victory.
The meeting was also attended by Halyna Mykhailiuk, the Head of the Verkhovna Rada’s Group for Interparliamentary Relations with Japan, and Oleh Seminskyi, the Deputy Chairman of the Committee on Energy, Housing and Utilities.
