Prime Minister took part in official events to mark Ukraine’s Independence Day

Оfficial events on the occasion of the Independence Day of Ukraine took place in Kyiv, on St Sophia Square.

The ceremony was attended by President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Ruslan Stefanchuk, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine Andriy Yermak, Secretary of the National Security and Defence Council of Ukraine Oleksiy Danilov, Ukrainian soldiers and representatives of foreign countries.

“We will not lose grip on Ukrainian independence. We are all united by this feeling. We remember what the Ukrainian people went through. We see the threats. We are fighting the enemy. And we know what we are capable of. We are capable of winning! And we will prevail!” the President of Ukraine said.

In his address, the Prime Minister thanked all the defenders of Ukraine who are taking up arms to defend their homeland.

“I thank the volunteers, rescuers, medics and teachers. I am grateful to the power engineers and utility workers. Everyone is doing everything they can to ensure that the day of victory comes as soon as possible. Together we are a great force moving Ukraine forward. Together we will stand, win and rebuild,” said Denys Shmyhal.
