Denys Shmyhal discusses cooperation in energy sector with Prime Minister of Finland

Рrime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal met with Prime Minister of Finland Petteri Orpo in Kyiv to discuss the situation in the Ukrainian energy sector and the strengthening of cooperation in this area.

Denys Shmyhal stressed that Finland was one of the leading donors of energy assistance to Ukraine last winter and expressed his gratitude for the support.

“russian acts of terror require a strong response from the world. We have to strengthen sanctions against the aggressor, especially in the nuclear sector,” the Head of Ukrainian Government emphasised.

The Prime Minister of Ukraine thanked the Finnish side for understanding the situation and noted that Finland’s refusal to cooperate with the aggressor in the nuclear energy sector should serve as a model for other states.

The parties also discussed the development of logistics, the confiscation of russian assets, European integration and the restoration of Ukraine. Prime Minister Petteri Orpo noted that Finland was preparing a national plan with the private sector to help Ukraine’s recovery.
