Emine Dzhaparova held a meeting with Ambassador of Сolombia H.E. Assad Jater
On August 15, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Emine Dzhaparova received copies of credentials from H.E. Assad José Jater Peña, the Ambassador of the Republic of Colombia with concurrent accreditation to Ukraine.
Emine Dzhaparova expressed gratitude to Colombia for the support of Ukrainian initiatives within international organizations, notably in the UN General Assembly.
The interlocutors discussed further steps to intensify bilateral relations between the two states. The Ukrainian side reiterated its intention to cooperate actively with Colombia in the framework of joint implementation of such Ukrainian peace initiatives as Peace Formula and International Crimea Platform. Particularly, the First Deputy Minister expressed Ukraine’s interest in Colombia top government authorities’ participation in the Third Crimea Platform Summit and in the Global Peace Summit.
The issues of increasing Colombia’s humanitarian assistance to Ukraine were also discussed. In particular, the Ukrainian side expressed interest in using the experience of Colombia in the sphere of humanitarian demining.
Ambassador Assad Jater expressed solidarity with the Ukrainian people and reiterated Colombia’s unwavering support of the independence, territorial integrity, and sovereignty of Ukraine.
