The priority task now is to start negotiations on full membership of the EU
The first priority in the concept of the philosophy of Ukrainian victory and the globalisation of Ukrainian security is the implementation of the Peace Formula. The next step is to join the EU and NATO. This was emphasised by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal at a Government meeting on 30 June.
“The priority task now is to start negotiations on full membership of the EU. European integration is the compass for all our reforms and changes. We have a clear roadmap for this process: self-screening of legislation, implementation of European directives, integration into European markets, participation in joint EU programmes, fulfilment of the European Commission’s recommendations on the implementation of the European instrument for assistance to Ukraine,” the Prime Minister said.
Denys Shmyhal also stressed that Ukraine’s post-war security was not only about NATO membership, but also about the Ukrainian Army and defence industry.
“Ukraine should become a centre for the production of modern weapons in Europe. We are moving towards a new structure in the defence industry. We are planning joint projects with the world’s largest defence companies. This will necessarily include localisation in the production of equipment and weapons. We attach great importance to modern technological solutions and developments,” the Head of Government noted.
Another point of great importance, according to the Prime Minister, is security in everyday life. Safety on the roads, in schools, in public places, safety in our own homes. In this regard, the top priorities are mine clearance and the construction of shelters.
