Denys Shmyhal voices four key messages of Ukraine Recovery Conference in London
Тhe London Recovery Conference launched the implementation of practical projects, with the results already apparent this year. Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal emphasized this during the final panel of the Conference.
In his speech, the Head of the Ukrainian Government focused on four important messages of the conference.
"Ukraine will become a member of the European Union. Almost all speakers said this. We are pursuing reforms in line with EU directives and regulations. Our recovery program will also be based on the principles of the European Union," the Head of the Ukrainian Government said.
The second important message is that russia must pay for its crimes and destruction. Almost all speakers at the Conference agreed with this thesis.
"It is critical to finalize the creation of a fair compensation mechanism that will allow the use of frozen russian assets to rebuild Ukraine," the Prime Minister emphasized.
Besides, according to Denys Shmyhal, business should be at the center of Ukraine's recovery: "To this end, we are creating tools for insuring war risks. We can see that the international business community is interested in investing in Ukraine."
In addition, the Prime Minister emphasized that Ukraine's recovery would benefit not only Ukraine but also our partners and allies. This means a significant boost for the European economy, additional opportunities and prospects for businesses from all over the world.
The Prime Minister said that next year the conference would take place in Berlin. He thanked the German partners for their willingness to accept the challenge, as well as representatives of all partner countries, international organizations, civil society and business.
"I am grateful to the heroic Ukrainian army for the fact that today we can plan our free future. We are all united by the idea of a strong and successful Ukraine. We will win and rebuild our country together," summarized Denys Shmyhal.
