Denys Shmyhal and Antony Blinken discuss areas of cooperation in rebuilding Ukraine

Іn the sidelines of the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with U.S. Secretary of State Antony Blinken.

The parties discussed cooperation in five key priority areas for rapid recovery. An important topic was humanitarian demining, where the United States can help with equipment and training.

“I stressed the importance of war and political risk insurance. This will pave the way for investment and strengthen Ukraine’s economic resilience. I underscored the need to support Ukraine’s small and medium-sized businesses. In particular, through the provision of grants, which will create jobs and economic opportunities,” said Denys Shmyhal, commenting on the details of the meeting.

The Head of Ukrainian Government thanked the United States for its strong and comprehensive support. In particular, for arms and for providing an additional USD 1.3 billion in financial assistance.

“I am grateful to Antony Blinken for his concern about the challenges of reconstruction. We know that the United States will support Ukraine for as long as it takes,” the Prime Minister said.
