World Bank and donors commit additional USD 1.76 billion for Ukraine’s recovery

Тhe World Bank has become one of the leaders in mobilising resources to help Ukraine after the outbreak of a full-scale war. This was emphasised by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at the Ukraine Recovery Conference in London.

“Today we have signed a further agreement to attract USD 500 million in funding from the UK as part of a USD 1.76 billion assistance package for Ukraine. The assistance will be provided with the support of the United States, the United Kingdom and Finland,” the Head of Government said.

According to the Prime Minister, the funds will be used to pay the salaries of rescue workers and teachers, to pay pensions, to support low-income families, children with disabilities, internally displaced persons, single mothers, and to pay for medical services under the medical guarantee programme.

Denys Shmyhal thanked the partners for this step of solidarity.
