Ukraine plans to involve international insurance companies in war risk insurance

А statement of intent to relaunch the private insurance market to support Ukraine’s resilience and recovery was signed today on the sidelines of the London conference.

The document was concluded between the European Commission, Switzerland, Norway, the European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD) and the Ministry of Economy of Ukraine.

According to the Head of Ukrainian Government, the signing of this Statement will launch business insurance against war risks when investing in Ukraine. Donor support will make it possible to re-engage Ukrainian and international insurance and reinsurance companies. This will facilitate the return of foreign investment to Ukraine, which in turn will mean economic recovery, jobs and taxes to support the Ukrainian army.

“Rebuilding Ukraine will be the largest reconstruction project since the Second World War. We are involving all our international partners and the private sector in this process. It will be the driver of Ukraine’s recovery,” the Prime Minister stressed.
