We are counting on the active participation of the UK private sector in Ukraine’s recovery

Тhe Ukraine Recovery Conference in London is a milestone event that summarises the efforts of the Ukrainian authorities and gives impetus to new achievements. This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal at a press conference with British Foreign Secretary James Cleverly.

“Based on the established recovery architecture, we will begin to implement specific projects that Ukrainians need now,” the Head of Government stressed.

Denys Shmyhal emphasised that the United Kingdom was one of Ukraine’s key partners in the reconstruction process. Particularly, in the area of humanitarian demining, the development of a war risk insurance mechanism and the creation of an international trust fund. As well as in the use of the UK Export Finance (UKEF) instruments for rapid recovery projects.

“We are also counting on the active participation of the private sector. To this end, we are offering specific projects and opportunities, introducing reforms and creating a favourable investment climate,” the Prime Minister said.

Denys Shmyhal noted that the Conference was expected to result in the signing of a number of bilateral agreements between Ukraine and international partners in areas such as energy, agriculture, environmental protection, infrastructure and economy.
