President held a meeting on water supply of Dnipropetrovsk region in Kryvyi Rih
During a working trip to Dnipropetrovsk region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting on the construction of water mains to replace those supplied from the Kakhovka reservoir to provide water to the region's residents.
Head of the Dnipropetrovsk Regional Military Administration Serhiy Lysak reported that the blasting of the dam at the Kakhovka hydroelectric power plant caused problems with the supply of drinking water to residents of Kryvyi Rih, Marhanets, Pokrov and Nikopol. In particular, the water utilities in Pokrov and Marhanets have stopped working. Water is now being delivered to these cities by rail and road.
Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration of Ukraine - Minister for Communities, Territories and Infrastructure Development of Ukraine Oleksandr Kubrakov informed about the projects of construction of the following water pipelines: Karachunivka reservoir - Kryvyi Rih - Pivdenne reservoir, Marhanets - Nikopol and Khortytsia - Tomakivka. According to him, the implementation of these projects will provide high-quality drinking water to people in the affected areas.
In addition, there are plans to expand the network of wells in Dnipropetrovsk region and reconstruct existing water pipelines.
The parties also heard information from Head of the Kryvyi Rih Defense Council Oleksandr Vilkul, mayor of Marhanets Hennadiy Borovyk, mayor of Nikopol Oleksandr Sayuk and mayor of Pokrovsk Oleksandr Shapoval on water supply.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy instructed to work on the issue of attracting additional equipment for water supply to settlements.
