Denys Shmyhal met with U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations Linda Thomas-Greenfield

Оn the sidelines of the Council of Europe Summit, Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal met with U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, member of the National Security Council and the U.S. Government Linda Thomas-Greenfield.

The Head of the Ukrainian Government thanked the United States for supporting the creation of the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of russian federation against Ukraine.  

"The end point of our efforts should be an international Special Tribunal. This will be a joint contribution to the restoration of justice and the formation of a new system of global security," stressed Denys Shmyhal. 

The Prime Minister also stressed the importance of an integral component of the global security system - food - and the need to continue the Grain from Ukraine initiative of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Denys Shmyhal also expressed his gratitude to the United States for providing air defence systems to protect Ukrainian skies.

 

"We look forward to further close cooperation to strengthen security and achieve our future victory," the Prime Minister said.

On May 17, 2023, Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, together with Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, signed a Political Declaration on Accession to the Extended Partial Agreement on the Register of Damage Caused by the Aggression of russian federation against Ukraine. The signing ceremony took place in Reykjavik, Iceland, on the sidelines of the 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe.
