Participants of the Council of Europe Summit support creation of Register of Damage caused by russia's aggression against Ukraine

Рrime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal, together with Prime Minister of Iceland Katrín Jakobsdóttir and Prime Minister of the Netherlands Mark Rutte, signed a Political Declaration of Accession to the Enlarged Partial Agreement on the Register of Damage caused by the aggression of russian federation against Ukraine. The signing ceremony took place in Reykjavik, Iceland, on the sidelines of the 4th Summit of Heads of State and Government of the Council of Europe.

Denys Shmyhal thanked the Council of Europe and all member states that supported this landmark decision at a high level.

"The Register is an important step towards justice and compensation for Ukraine and Ukrainians for the damage that russia has inflicted with its brutal war. Now it is crucial to ensure the Register's direct operation so that victims of russian aggression can submit their claims," the Head of the Ukrainian Government said.

According to Denys Shmyhal, Ukraine, together with its partners, continues to pursue the main goal of creating a comprehensive compensation mechanism that will ensure that russia compensates Ukraine in full in accordance with the international law. in particular, at the expense of russia's assets in the world.
