During his official visit to Germany, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy met with members of the German Security Cabinet.

The meeting, which was also attended by German Chancellor Olaf Scholz, was joined by Vice Chancellor and Minister for Economic Affairs and Climate Action Robert Habeck, Minister for Foreign Affairs Annalena Baerbock, Minister of Defense Boris Pistorius, Minister of Finance Christian Lindner, Minister for Economic Cooperation and Development Svenja Schulze and Minister of the Interior and Community Nancy Faeser.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized that such a format of the meeting is unique and fully consistent with the high level of cooperation achieved between our countries. He expressed gratitude to the German government and each of the officials present for their effective comprehensive assistance to Ukraine since the first days of full-scale Russian aggression.

Having briefed the members of the German Security Cabinet on the situation on the frontline and the priority needs of the Ukrainian defense forces, the Head of State emphasized the necessity of lifting restrictions and red lines on the supply of all types of weapons to Ukraine.

Addressing the Federal Chancellor, the President noted a fundamentally new character of bilateral relations.

"Since February 24 last year, with the "change of epochs," as you so aptly put it, relations between our countries have changed profoundly. From providing Ukraine with humanitarian aid to receiving the most modern air defense systems, artillery, infantry fighting vehicles and battle tanks," he emphasized.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the Chancellor for his personal role in these transformations and expressed hope for Germany's leadership in the formation of the air coalition.

The Head of State commended the decision of the Federal Government to earmark funds for the purchase of military equipment necessary for Ukraine until 2032 in the total amount of 17 billion euros.

A full range of topical issues of bilateral cooperation was discussed. Particular attention was paid to security support for Ukraine and the development of substantive cooperation in this area; Germany's involvement in the reconstruction of our country, including the role of the private sector in this process, as well as cooperation on the path of Ukraine's European and Euro-Atlantic integration.

The parties considered key areas of cooperation in the international arena, including Germany's involvement in the implementation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula and the organization of the Global Peace Summit, assistance in the implementation of Black Sea Grain Initiative and Grain from Ukraine humanitarian program.
