Hundreds of Italian and Ukrainian companies at the Recovery Conference is a message of common concern in rebuilding
Ukraine will be a member of the EU, and this is one of the arguments why Italian businesses should invest in Ukraine today. This was stated by Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal in his speech at the Ukraine Recovery Conference held in Rome with the participation of the President of the Council of Ministers of the Italian Republic Giorgia Meloni. President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy also addressed the event's participants online.
Denys Shmyhal thanked Giorgia Meloni for organizing the conference and stressed that Italy's leadership in the recovery was crucial for our country.
"Hundreds of Italian and Ukrainian companies, businesses, associations that are here today send a message that we have a common interest in the recovery projects that the President of Ukraine has described today. We invite Italian companies to invest in Ukraine and implement recovery projects today," the Prime Minister of Ukraine said.
According to the Head of the Ukrainian Government, the World Bank currently estimates the losses and recovery needs of Ukraine at USD 411 billion. At the same time, our country needs more than USD 14 billion for rapid recovery in the following priorities: energy, housing, humanitarian demining, critical and social infrastructure as well as support for micro, small and medium-sized businesses.
"I am convinced that the restoration of Ukraine will become the largest investment and business project on the European continent since the Second World War. Those who invest in Ukraine today will get the best opportunities and prospects during the implementation of the Grand Recovery Plan," said Denys Shmyhal.
In conclusion, the Prime Minister of Ukraine expressed his gratitude to the President of the Council of Ministers, the Government and the people of Italy for their steadfast support of our country.
