President observed the arrangement of the state border of Ukraine in Volyn

During a working trip to the Volyn region, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy visited the border area where the borders of three states are adjacent: Ukraine, the Republic of Poland, and the Republic of Belarus.

He observed the arrangement of the state border in this area.

As reported to Volodymyr Zelenskyy, in order to ensure reliable protection of the Ukrainian border and readiness to repel a possible invasion of the enemy from the territory of Belarus, engineering barriers, fortifications are being built and remote video surveillance systems are being set up.

Border guards demonstrated the amount of work that has been done since the beginning of 2022 to reinforce the border with Belarus within the Volyn region.

The President also inspected the observation post and the two-level trench system on the border. From the position of the observation post, round-the-clock surveillance of the border line with the help of remote video surveillance systems was demonstrated. The Head of State was shown systems for detecting unmanned aerial vehicles.

The President spoke with military personnel of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine and presented them with awards, in particular the orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the III degree, "For Courage" of the III degree, as well as medals "For Military Service to Ukraine".

"I have the honor to be here today, to congratulate you, to thank you for protecting the state border. I want to talk about the border, being right here, in Volyn, near the border of Ukraine with Belarus and Poland. You are heroic and strong people. I want to thank you for protecting our country in Bakhmut. I know how firmly you stood there, holding Bakhmut. I would like to thank you and your brothers-in-arms. I want to wish health, strength to you, and warmth to your loved ones. We are all proud that we have such strong border guards. I wish you to keep the power, justice and fury that we have in the defense of our state. I wish everyone only victory!" Volodymyr Zelenskyy said.

The memory of the fallen border guards was honored with a moment of silence.
