Denys Shmyhal talks over military support for Ukraine with Lloyd Austin
Ukraine counts on the United States' continued strong military support, in particular, in the supply of heavy equipment and ammunition, as well as in the provision of longer-range missiles.
This was stated by Prime Minister of Ukraine Denys Shmyhal during a meeting with U.S. Secretary of Defense Lloyd Austin. Denys Shmyhal thanked the United States and the Secretary personally for their significant military aid, as well as for their efforts to establish the Ukrainian Defense Contact Group which is currently an alliance of more than 50 countries.
During the meeting, the parties discussed in detail Ukraine's urgent needs for the successful conduct of the next counter-offensive operation to liberate Ukrainian lands.
"Ukrainian soldiers have proven that they can master the latest equipment in a short time and use it effectively on the battlefield. For a quicker victory, Ukraine also needs more weapons: air defense systems, heavy artillery and equipment, mortars and ammunition," the Prime Minister emphasized.
