Prime Minister of Ukraine honors the memory of Bucha residents killed as a result of russian aggression

Іn the first anniversary of the liberation of Bucha (Kyiv region), commemorative events were held in the city with the participation of President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal, President of Moldova Maia Sandu, Prime Minister of Slovakia Eduard Heger, Prime Minister of Slovenia Robert Golob, Prime Minister of Croatia Andrej Plenković, as well as Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada Ruslan Stefanchuk and Head of the Office of the President Andriy Yermak were present.

"A year ago, our soldiers liberated Bucha. The footage from the liberated city shocked the whole world. There was pain. Grief. Hatred. These feelings gripped each of us when we saw what the enemy had left behind. When we saw the streets with people shot dead. When hundreds of innocent civilians were exhumed from mass graves. Horrific crimes and atrocities. And those who are responsible for them will definitely be punished. Justice will be inevitable," Prime Minister Denys Shmyhal emphasized.

The participants honored the memory of the residents of Bucha killed by russia during the occupation of the city and placed candles at the memorial cross at the burial site near the Church of St. Andrew the First-Called and All Saints.

The Heads of State and Government also got acquainted with the devastating consequences of russian aggression on Vokzalna Street, where heavy battles for the city took place, and the process of its restoration.

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented the community of Bucha with the honorary title of "Hero City of Ukraine".
