President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy took part in the festivities on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Security Service of Ukraine.
Addressing the generals, officers, sergeants and cadets of the Security Service of Ukraine, the Head of State noted the feat and might of the renewed combat Security Service of Ukraine.
"The Ukrainian people aspired to have a Security Service of their state that they could be proud of, to which they could be sincerely grateful, and thanks to which they could feel confident that Ukraine would be protected from all threats, no matter what they might be," Volodymyr Zelenskyy emphasized.
The President noted that the time of the full-scale war with the Russian Federation put the Security Service of Ukraine in conditions of constant battle for Ukraine and at the same time tough internal selection and cleansing.
He thanked the special service officers for the fact that they guarantee Ukraine a strong security foundation, a part of which is their success in the battles against the occupier, in confronting the internal enemy, and protecting the state from collaborators.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy noted that the details of many tasks and combat operations of the Security Service of Ukraine will be revealed only after the victory of Ukraine.
"But all Ukrainian men and women can already be sure that the Security Service of our state will add more and more heroic pages to our national history, the history of the new independent Ukraine," he is convinced.
The Head of State noted that today the freedom and independence of our country is gained at a great price, and Ukrainian heroes, in particular from the ranks of the Security Service of Ukraine, give their lives for Ukraine to withstand and defeat Russia.
Those present honored the memory of all those who died for Ukraine with a moment of silence.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy reminded that during the full-scale war with the Russian Federation, more than 500 Security Service employees were awarded state awards, in particular, six were awarded the title of Hero of Ukraine.
He noted that the Security Service fights the enemy at the front - in the hottest spots, provides cyber protection for the country, stabilizes the situation in the de-occupied areas, and ensures that the enemy does not have effective minions in any part of our state.
"The Service helps us free Ukrainian men and women from captivity. It's a great job. A great team works together. Malyuk, Budanov and Yermak," the President emphasized.
The Head of State commended all units of the Security Service for the results needed for Ukraine. "I am grateful to all of you for this. From the leadership, from General Vasyl Vasyliovych Malyuk to each of you, to each employee of the Security Service of Ukraine. Thank you to the cadets who are preparing to join your strong professional team," he said.
The President also thanked the relatives and friends of the Security Service employees who inspire them to serve Ukraine every day.
Volodymyr Zelenskyy presented state awards to the Security Service servicemen. In particular, he handed over the "Gold Star" Order to the relatives of the fallen Hero of Ukraine. The Head of State also awarded the Orders of Bohdan Khmelnytsky of the III degree, "For Courage" of the II degree, "For Courage" of the III degree, Danylo Halytsky, medals "For Military Service to Ukraine" and "To Defender of the Homeland".
