At the Vilnius Summit, Ukraine expects NATO member states to endorse security guarantees - Volodymyr Zelenskyy

Ukraine has been invited to the NATO Summit to be held in Vilnius and expects NATO member states to endorse the provision of security guarantees to our country. This was stated by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy during a conversation with media representatives following a meeting with Prime Minister of Finland Sanna Marin in Kyiv.

"Yes, we have been invited, but we would like to see appropriate steps forward in addition to the status we have today in relations with NATO," the Head of State said when asked what Ukraine expects from the NATO Summit in Vilnius.

Volodymyr Zelenskyy thanked the NATO member states that support our country on the battlefield, but also emphasized the importance of providing security guarantees to Ukraine.

"Even if we cannot be in NATO during the war, we would like to have appropriate security guarantees along the way, while we are not yet in NATO," he stated.

"It is precisely the appropriate steps towards Ukraine and security guarantees that we expect from NATO member states at this Vilnius Summit. We will work on it," the President added.
