The First Vice Speaker Oleksandr Korniienko met with a delegation of the Knesset of Israel

“People, cities, critical infrastructure and cultural facilities are suffering from russian aggression. There is not a single sphere left that the russian war against Ukraine has not affected,” the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Oleksandr Korniienko emphasized during a working meeting with the delegation of the Knesset of Israel.

He informed his colleagues that russia is not abandoning its plans to continue the war and is currently planning offensive actions, which are accompanied by information attacks and missile terror.

The First Deputy Speaker noted that the members of the delegation, Ze’ev Elkin and Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, “are familiar with Ukraine, as they were born here and know our culture, customs and state.” “In addition, Mr. Elkin studied at Kharkiv University, which was damaged by a russian missile attack,” he added.

“When international partners come to Kyiv and sirens sound every day, it is important. It shows the support of the Ukrainian people and confidence in the victory of justice,” emphasized Mr. Korniienko.

In addition, the First Deputy Chairman of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine noted that Israel has always been Ukraine’s main partner in the Middle East: “This visit will mark the opening of a new page in Ukrainian-Israeli relations.”

“Our cooperation should become more efficient and much more effective in the face of common challenges and threats,” emphasized Oleksandr Korniienko. He also said that at the meeting the delegates “spoke in the language of numbers – the number of occupiers on the territory of Ukraine, the length of the front line, hundreds of rockets, victims, destroyed infrastructure.”

In conclusion, Oleksandr Korniienko thanked Israel for its tangible assistance in Ukraine’s struggle against russia’s war of aggression and expressed hope for cooperation in the rehabilitation of Ukrainian soldiers, given the professionalism of Israeli medicine.

The meeting was also attended by Chairman of the Committee on Finance, Taxation and Customs Policy Danylo Hetmantsev and Chairman of the Committee on Foreign Policy and Interparliamentary Cooperation Oleksandr Merezhko.
